On August 29, Disney+ confirmed the release of the series ‘Made in Korea’ and revealed its casting lineup. ‘Made in Korea’ is a series that tells the story of Baek Ki-tae (Hyun Bin), a man with ambitions for wealth and power during the turbulent 1970s, and the prosecutor Jang Geon-young (Jung Woo-sung), who throws everything away to stop him. The series delves into monumental events of the era.
‘Made in Korea’ marks the first series directed by Woo Min-ho, known for his exceptional perspective on contemporary Korean history in films such as ‘The Insiders’, ‘The Drug King’, and ‘Harbin’. Hive Media Corp, which has produced works like ‘The Insiders’, ‘The Drug King’, ‘Deliver Us from Evil’, ‘Spring in Seoul’, and ‘Handsome Guys’, is in charge of production.
Hyun Bin will play Baek Ki-tae, a man driven by ambition for wealth and power, while Jung Woo-sung will portray Jang Geon-young, a prosecutor with animalistic instincts and fierce determination. The cast also includes Seo Eun-soo as investigator Oh Ye-jin, Jo Yeo-jung as Bae Geum-ji, and Jung Sung-il as Chief Secretary Cheon Seok-jung, adding to the anticipation.
