On August 26th, Disney+ confirmed the 2025 release of “Knock Off” and unveiled its cast.
“Knock Off” tells the story of a man whose life is completely upended by the IMF crisis, transforming from an ordinary office worker into the king of the counterfeit goods market.
Set for release in 2025, the series has garnered attention with the return of Kim Soo Hyun, the star of the “Queen of Tears” phenomenon, as he takes on the role of Kim Seong Jun, the king of the counterfeit goods world.
Kim Seong Jun, portrayed by Kim Soo Hyun, is a character who, after losing his job due to the IMF crisis, enters the world of counterfeit goods and rises to become the king of the counterfeit goods market. Known for his sharp intellect, quick thinking and intense ambition, Kim Seong Jun hints at a character that may redefine Kim Soo Hyun’s career.
Kim Soo Hyun, who has consistently proven his talent as a “box office guarantee” with standout performances in dramas like “Queen of Tears”, “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”, “The Producers” and “My Love from the Star”, is expected to once again showcase his exceptional skills as the ultimate boss of the counterfeit goods market, Kim Seong Jun.
Actress Jo Bo Ah, who has demonstrated her versatility in works such as “Tale of the Nine Tailed” and “Military Prosecutor Doberman”, will be partnering with Kim Soo Hyun for the first time. Jo Bo Ah will play Song Hye Jung, Kim Seong Jun’s ex-lover and a special judicial police officer dedicated to cracking down on counterfeit goods.
Her character is set to create a tense, cat-and-mouse relationship with Kim Seong Jun, the king of the counterfeit goods world, heightening anticipation for the unfolding storyline. Fans are eagerly awaiting the chemistry between Kim Soo Hyun and Jo Bo Ah and the fresh dynamics their partnership will bring to the screen through “Knock Off”.
Additionally, “Knock Off” will be directed by Park Hyun Suk, known for his work on “Song of the Bandits” and “Stranger 2”, with a script written by Han Jung Hoon, the writer behind “Song of the Bandits”, “Bad Guys” and “38 Task Force”.
