BTS’s Jin Releases Content Video Of Him Climbing Mt. Hallasan Amid Suga’s Controversy

On August 13th, BTS’s YouTube channel ‘BANGTAN TV’ uploaded a video titled “[Run Jin] EP.1 | 5 Days Since Discharge and I’m Climbing Mt. Hallasan…”.

Waking up early in the morning at a hotel on Jeju Island, Jin wore a hiking suit and prepared to climb Hallasan Mountain

Jin said, “It’s been 5 days since my discharge and I’m going to climb Hallasan Mountain”, adding “This is actually something I’ve aspired to do, rather than something I’m doing for fun. I’ll do fun shoots in the future, but today is all about ambition. You’re beautiful because you try. I will do my best for this hike. Fighting!”, then began to climb Hallasan Mountain. The distance to the destination was more than 9km and the round trip was estimated to take about 9 hours.

Jin said, “My original plan was to finish what I started. If I start tennis, I’ll hit 1000 balls. If I start hiking, I’ll reach the top. But I jumped right into hiking from the start”.

However, Jin began to complain that he was tired after 100 meters of hiking. At the rest stop, he called Baek Jong-won to do a quiz and got an ice americano. While climbing, Jin also challenged the mission of making people say ‘Congratulations on your military discharge’. He shared, “It’s not easy to approach people in a friendly way”, expressing difficulties in carrying out missions for an introvert.

In the end, Jin reached the top after 4 hours and 20 minutes. Thrilled by his achievement, Jin shouted, “Can’t believe I’m seeing Baeknokdam within 5 days after my discharge”, adding “Wow, I did it”. It was a good time for Jin to strengthen himself before carrying out activities after discharge.

While going down the mountain, Jin showed off his outstanding stamina as an elite soldier.  As the camera staff couldn’t keep up with him, Jin stopped in the middle to wait for them.

Going down Hallasan Mountain with shaky legs, Jin confessed, “If you want to take a turning point in your life, try this”, adding “I’d recommend this course to Jungkook. But I won’t go with him”. After completing his mission, Jin ate cold raw fish soup that he always wanted to try. He exclaimed, “I love it. I’m so happy. Happiness is not really far away”, adding “By climbing Hallasan Mountain, I’ve just wrapped up the first day of filming. ‘Run Jin’ will continue with more challenges”.

Meanwhile, Jin is the only BTS member to have been discharged from the military and he will launch his own variety show “Run Jin” on BTS’s YouTube account. This is Jin’s solo content in which he challenges various things with the mindset “I can do anything” to repay ARMYs’ love.
