‘Club Visit Controversy’ TEMPEST’s Hwarang Leaves the Team

On the 11th, Yuehua Entertainment Korea announced through TEMPEST’s official fan café, ‘We have had in-depth discussions with Hwarang regarding his future activities and career path. After careful consideration, we mutually agreed to end his activities as a member of TEMPEST and terminate his exclusive contract with the company.’

They added, ‘We sincerely thank all the fans who have supported Hwarang so far. We ask for your continued support for Hwarang in his new journey, and we, too, will genuinely support his future endeavors.’ Following Hwarang’s departure, TEMPEST will continue to promote as a six-member group.

In February, Hwarang was caught up in a controversy after admitting to being spotted at a club during a video call fan signing event. While there is no issue with Hwarang, born in 2001, visiting a club, some fans took issue with his attitude and the mention of another idol member during the event. Hwarang later issued a statement, saying he was ‘deeply reflecting’ on his actions and clarified that the mention of another idol member accompanying him was ‘not true.’
