On August 9, a fanbase of BABYMONSTER’s Ruka officially announced that they will start a project to demand better treatment for the female idol from YG.
According to the fanbase, they are “disappointed by the limited opportunities Ruka has been given to fully showcase her official positions as both a rapper and a dancer within BABYMONSTER”, at the same time worry about Ruka having to wear ill-fitting and excessively tall performance shoes, which pose a serious risk to her safety.

Additionally, the fanbase pointed out that Ruka has been facing an increasing amount of negative attention and hate recently, but YG has not taken any necessary measures to protect Ruka in particular and BABYMONSTER in general.
As such, the fanbase requests YG to treat Ruka fairly and take necessary measures, from providing Ruka with proper opportunities, giving her safer footwear, to protecting her better against malicious comments.
To express their concerns and requests, the fanbase asked fans to send mass emails to YG Entertainment and trend the hashtag #YGTreatRUKAFairly on X (formerly Twitter) as well as uploading posts and tagging YG on Instagram.
