Kim Yong-man Mentions Yoo Jae-suk’s Ex-Girlfriend, “Her Level Was Too High”
Yoo Jae-suk met with Kim Yong-man and Ji Seok-jin and shared various past stories about their longtime friendship
On August 2nd, the YouTube channel “조동아리” released a new video showing Yoo Jae-suk appearing as a guest for the second consecutive week. In the video, Yoo Jae-suk and other broadcasters recalled their friendship that began in 1987.
Yoo Jae-suk revealed an anecdote of when he visited Kim Yong-man’s house because he had no one to rely on after breaking up. At that time, Yoo Jae-suk called Kim Yong-man and said, “Brother, I just broke up”, and Kim Yong-man replied, “Come to my house”.
However, when Yoo Jae-suk came, Kim Yong-man briefly advised him, saying “Learn more about life~ Learn about love~”, then fell asleep. Yoo Jae-suk wondered, “Did I go there just to hear that?”, drawing laughter.
Regarding the situation at that time, Kim Yong-man said, “It was the time I went to sleep, and to be honest, I already expected that Yoo Jae-suk would break up with his girlfriend. It is because her level was too high, compared to Jae-seok’s”.
As they continued the group conversation, Yoo Jae-suk also talked about their friendship, which has continued for more than 30 years. Recalling difficult times during the early days of their debut, Yoo Jae-suk expressed his gratitude, saying “Yong-man, Soo-hong, Seok-jin, and Soo-young all took great care of me emotionally”.
Yoo Jae-suk recalled his rookie era when no one cast him. He said, “It was not that I did something terribly, but I didn’t even get a small role. I parked my car under KBS building and cried for 20 minutes. I was very upset. Later, I saw myself on an old broadcast and understood why the directors didn’t cast me…”. Pointing out the scenes when he acted with others, Yoo Jae-suk said, “My acting was so bad but I didn’t realize it at that time. Back then, I wondered why the producers didn’t use me, but I guess they were right”.
Lastly, the four wrapped up their conversation by sending supportive messages to each other. Kim Yong-man jokingly said, “Jae-suk should come here for the third time”. Kim Soo-young added, “You should buy a car for Jae-suk if you get 1 million subscribers”. Hearing that, Yoo Jae-suk reacted, “That’s not funny at all”, drawing laughter.
