Recently, rumors of SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu visiting a club and asking for girls spread in online communities, drawing attention. At midnight on July 29th, a netizen released screenshots of a Kakaotalk conversation between a club staff and their acquaintance, claiming that Mingyu visited the club to drink alcohol and ask for girls to be brought to his table so that he could choose.
As the revelation attracted keen attention and spread rapidly, fans also quickly found evidence to prove that it was fabricated. Noticing that the netizen started hinting at the revelation on July 28th, fans pointed out that Mingyu was busy that day with updates from his Weverse and proof of him at the gym.
In addition, some zoomed into the video the club staff sent to their acquaintance and insisted that the man in the video didn’t look like Mingyu at all.
Many also questioned the credibility of the X account that made the revelation as they seemed to have intentionally made up rumors that could be linked to the past controversy of Mingyu visiting a club in Itaewon during the Covid-19 pandemic with some other idols.
After being criticized by SEVENTEEN fans, the account has been switched to private.
