(G)I-DLE Apologizes For Wearing Red Cross Stage Costumes 

CUBE Entertainment issued an apology for the controversy over (G)I-DLE’s stage outfits for a comeback recent stage

On July 22nd, CUBE Entertainment released on their official SNS account a notice about the controversy (G)I-DLE’s performing costumes. The agency said they already contacted the Korean Red Cross to apologize, promise to prevent the issue from happening again and come up with follow-up measures.

Earlier on the 19th, (G)I-DLE appeared on KBS’s music show “Music Bank” and presented a performance of their new song “Klaxon”. In particular, the members wore outfits with the “LIFEGUARD” concept. However, criticism arose after the performance and people pointed out that it was illegal to use the Red Cross logo without permission.

According to Article 25 of the Organization of the Korean Red Cross Act (Prohibition of Use of Red Cross Trademark, etc.), the Red Cross logo cannot be used for business or promotion without permission from the Red Cross. Later, an official from the Korean Red Cross also confirmed that they did not receive any request for prior approval from CUBE.
