BLACKPINK Comeback + New Group Debut: YG Reveals Plans for 2025

YG, which suffered from severely low profits, has revealed its plans for the second half of 2024 and the year 2025.

On July 22, YG’s executive producer Yang Hyun-suk announced through the company’s official YouTube channel, “Next year, many artists will be active simultaneously.” 

He emphasized the anticipated comeback of BLACKPINK, stating, “There will be a BLACKPINK comeback. It’s also the year their world tour begins.”

Previously, BLACKPINK announced a private offline fan signing event on August 8 to commemorate their 8th anniversary.

Yang Hyun-suk also mentioned the upcoming world tours for BABYMONSTER and TREASURE, asking for fans’ anticipation. He added, “WINNER’s Song Minho and Kang Seungyoon will be discharged from the military at the end of December. AKMU will also be active.”

At the same time, Yang Hyun-seuk also teased the reunion project of 2NE1.

Additionally, he revealed plans to launch a new rookie group next year, tentatively named “Next Monster”.

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment is predicted to have experienced extreme performance decline. The securities industry estimates YG Entertainment’s second-quarter performance to be between 3 billion KRW (-98.9%) and 6.9 billion KRW (-76%) compared to the same period last year.
