Post Mocking BTS’s “Dokdo is Our Land” Reaches 20 Million Views “Another Attack by Japanese Right Wing”

Japanese right wing is reportedly using group BTS to assert baseless claims about Dokdo

According to Professor Seo Kyung-duk’s team, the X (formerly Twitter) account for “Share News Japan” posted a video of BTS’s leader RM wearing a hanbok and singing “Dokdo is Our Land”, mocking the scene.

Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women’s University stated, “We learned about this through reports from many BTS fans, and upon verification, we found that it has garnered 20 million views and is causing controversy among Japanese right-wing groups.”

Besides, they added the explanation “BTS’s leader wears comfort women clothing and sings that Takeshima (the Japanese name for Dokdo) is Korean land“, mocking “comfort women” as well.

Japanese right wing has previously caused controversies in Japan over BTS’s Jimin wearing a Liberation Day commemorative T-shirt on a broadcast and RM posting a Liberation Day tweet on SNS.

Professor Seo commented, “As the global influence of K-pop grows, Japanese right wing is increasingly nitpicking. We must consistently point out their distorted historical perceptions and actions both domestically and internationally to prevent such incidents from recurring.”
