Stray Kids “Can’t Believe Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are in the Music Video, It Feels Like CGI”

Stray Kids explained the process of their music video collaboration with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman

On the morning of July 19th, at the press conference held at Conrad Seoul Grand Ballroom in Yeouido, Seoul to celebrate the release of the new mini-album “ATE”, Stray Kids shared, “There’s a longer history than we expected. Ryan mentioned our stage, and we got in touch through SNS and became close.”

Their new album “ATE” is the latest release following the album “ROCK-STAR”, which achieved its fourth No.1 on the Billboard 200. The title track “Chk Chk Boom” is a blend of grand lyrics, Latin-style hip-hop rhythms with addictive loops, and a languid, unique top line.

The music video for the title track features “Deadpool & Wolverine” Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Stray Kids, who began their special connection with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman through a Deadpool-inspired performance on Mnet’s “Kingdom: Legendary War” in 2021, continued their relationship with these leading actors.

Stray Kids commented, “We reached out first. Despite their busy schedules, they took the time to collaborate with us. We connected while we were in the U.S. for other reasons. We are grateful to them.” Member Seungmin added, “Even seeing us together in the frame on screen, it’s hard to believe we’re in the same space. It feels like CGI.

Meanwhile, the album includes eight tracks: the title track “Chk Chk Boom”, “MOUNTAINS”, “JJAM”, “I Like It”, “Runners”, “twilight”, “Stray Kids” and “Chk Chk Boom (Festival Ver.)”. The entire album was produced by the group’s internal production team, 3RACHA—Bang Chan, Changbin and Han. The official release is scheduled for 1 PM on July 19th (midnight Eastern Time).
