SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu Gave His Parents More Money than YG’s Earnings
The amount of money that SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu gave his parents is revealed to have surpassed YG’s earnings in the last trimester.
On a recent episode of SEVENTEEN’s regular content “Going Seventeen”, member Mingyu was asked about what he gave his parents on the recent Parents’ Day, and revealed that he gifted them money.
Then, when asked about the amount, Mingyu made a gesture revealing that it was 500 million won (approx 362,000 USD). Hearing this, fellow SEVENTEEN member DK was so shocked, he jokingly asked, “Can I be your mom?”
Even with an idol’s earnings, 500 million won is a huge amount of money in Korea, to the point of being able to buy an apartment there.
In fact, some fans even pointed out that Mingyu gave his parents more money that what YG Entertainment made in the last trimester (only 300 million won – approx 217,000 USD).
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s Rosé also previously drew attention for wearing jewelry more than YG’s profits.
