2024 MAMA: Heading to the USA! Scheduled for November 21-23
CJ ENM has announced the first-ever U.S. debut of the globally renowned K-POP awards show, 'MAMA AWARDS,' which has carved out a unique and authoritative position over the past 25 years.
The ‘MAMA AWARDS,’ the only global K-POP awards ceremony presenting the value, new direction, and future of K-POP, has confirmed its schedule and location for this year. The ‘2024 MAMA AWARDS’ will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on November 21, local time, and at the Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japan on November 22 and 23, Korean time. The event will span three days across different time zones, with live broadcasts on major global channels. The ‘2024 MAMA AWARDS’ will pass the baton from the U.S. to Japan, relaying the on-site excitement to K-POP fans worldwide.
The first U.S. venue for the ‘2024 MAMA AWARDS’ is the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, a key location in the global entertainment industry and home to the annual Academy Awards. Starting as Mnet’s ‘Video Music Awards’ in 1999, and rebranding to the ‘Mnet ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS’ in 2009, the ‘MAMA AWARDS’ has continuously evolved alongside the growth of the Korean music industry. Having been held in various Asian locations such as Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Japan, the ‘MAMA AWARDS,’ which has led the globalization of K-POP, will now make its mark in the world’s largest music market, the U.S., adding a new chapter to its 25-year history.
The concept of the ‘2024 MAMA AWARDS’ is ‘BIG BLUR: What is Real?’ Embracing the era of Big Blur, where the boundaries between industries dissolve, the awards aim to present unprecedented ‘New Things’ born from the fusion of diverse music, culture, and tastes. The ‘2024 MAMA AWARDS’ will feature unique stages that bring surreal experiences to reality, merge art and technology, and unite the global fandom. It plans to amplify the charm of K-POP and provide extraordinary, almost surreal, but real experiences.
