BTS’s Jin Talks About His Military Discharge & Reveals Himself As A Fan Of “Queen Of Tears”
BTS member Jin expressed admiration for actor Kim Soo-hyun of the drama “Queen of Tears” in his recent interview
On July 15th, the YouTube channel ‘W KOREA’ released a Q&A interview video with BTS’s Jin.
In the video, Jin said, “These days, I’ve been recording for my album, working on new songs, filming variety shows, and photo shoots, wearing beautiful accessories and doing well overall”.
When asked about his feelings when BTS members gathered on the day of his military discharge, Jin said, “At first, I couldn’t really see the members. After saying my thank-you messages in front of the camera, I looked for the members and they were all hugging each other without me, you know?”, adding “Because it had been a long time since the members had seen each other as well. When I was in the military, I really missed the members. So I thought they must have felt the same way too”.
Jin also sent a message video to the members who are serving in the military, saying “Our members! Time is moving fast so if we live diligently and well, good days will come. I’ll be working hard on good things ahead. I’m desperately waiting for you guys”.
He also recalled his military days. He humbly said, “In the military, I did everything I was told to. I just went ahead and did everything in order. Fortunately, I was the first one to become the ‘special grade warrior’. The highest gun score was 20 out of 20 shots, and I hit 18 of them. For running, the standard was either 3km in 11 minutes and 30 seconds, or 12 minutes and 30 seconds for a special grade warrior. I met those standards well too and became the first one to achieve that grade”.
Revealing that he started playing tennis again after being discharged from the military, Jin said, “I’ve been playing it with friends, and when things go well, I can sustain rallies of 20 to 30 hits. I’m proud that my skills have improved a bit”. Jin added, “The most enjoyable drama I’ve watched recently, although I didn’t catch it from the first episode, is called ‘Queen of Tears’. There was a scene where Kim Soo-hyun holds flower petals and decides whether he likes her or not, and that scene was really cool to watch.”
Lastly, Jin said, “I think the biggest change would be my mindset. My glamorous and shining visual was starting to slightly fade away. I believe today’s shoot marks the beginning of my return to prime time. So please look forward to my improved looks”.
Meanwhile, Jin recently visited France as a torchbearer at the Paris Olympics as a Korean representative.
