(G)I-DLE’s Minnie “There are many members who write songs + I understand Soyeon’s feelings and work hard on the songs”
(G)I-DLE's Minnie shared her experiences working on the group's new album with her fellow members
On July 11th, Minnie appeared on the web variety show “Jae Friends”, where she discussed (G)I-DLE’s new mini-album “I SWAY” with Kim Jaejoong.
Recalling (G)I-DLE’s performance at the MLB Seoul Series, Jaejoong mentioned, “People who watched the performance were all thrilled.“
Minnie responded, “I was very nervous because of the loud cheers when we entered.” Jaejoong reminisced, “I watched it while cheering since K-pop is broadcasted worldwide.”
Jaejoong then asked, “Soyeon writes songs well and even directs them herself. Doesn’t mixing work and personal feelings cause discomfort?” Minnie explained, “Soyeon writes songs, and I write songs too. Many members write songs. Each member directs their own song. So, I understand Soyeon’s perspective and work hard on songs written by others.”
On July 8th, (G)I-DLE released their mini-album “I SWAY”, which includes the title track “Klaxon”. Minnie described, “The mini-album is filled with (G)I-DLE’s exciting and refreshing summer songs. ‘Klaxon’ means to sound the horn, reflecting a thrilling heart.” Minnie then demonstrated the point choreography, calling it the “hula-hula dance”.
Minnie also shared, “The recording finished faster than ever. It usually takes a week, but this time we finished in one go.” Hearing this, Jaejoong admired their dedication, “(G)I-DLE puts in great effort even in their seventh year.“
