Actor Shin Seung-ho talked about his reunion with Irene in a movie years after being Red Velvet’s bodyguard before his debut
On July 11th, the YouTube channel “MMTG” uploaded a YouTube video. That day, Jaejae met with the cast of the new movie “Pilot”, including Jo Jung-suk, Lee Joo-myung, Han Sun-hwa, and Shin Seung-ho.
Introducing Shin Seung-ho, Jaejae pointed out the actor’s past remark about being grateful to have a chance to act during his school days, “I heard he had played soccer for 11 years since he was young, couldn’t enjoy school trips or training camps as well as his school days”.
In response, the actor said, “I actually felt grateful, I couldn’t even go to the graduation ceremony. It was like a lifelong farewell to my friends. I cry easily and it was tough for my young age. I didn’t know I would have such precious opportunities through acting and I felt like having a new friend”.
Mentioning Shin Seung-ho’s part-time job as a bodyguard before his acting debut, Jaejae said, “I heard you worked as a bodyguard at a Red Velvet’s fansigning event. We have a very interesting relationship. I met Irene as a main character in ‘Double Patty’”.
Jo Jung-suk and Lee Joo-myung were very surprised to hear that.
Recalling the past, Shin Seung-ho said, “After I quit playing soccer, what I wanted to do the most was get a part-time job. One of my school friends worked part-time for a security team at a department store near my house so I followed them and joined the team after an interview. Sometimes, they assigned close protection tasks to me”.
He continued, “I heard Red Velvet was coming that day and they told me to be their bodyguard. I didn’t even know there were photos capturing that moment. While doing a movie with Irene, the director asked me if we met before but I said ‘No’. We started filming like that and when we came to episode 10, I suddenly realized that I had already met her”
Shin Seung-ho even added, “I looked up videos and realized that the manager who was with Irene also appeared on the set”.
