Recently on June 9, the collaboration between HYBE and The Grammy Museum, which entails a special exhibition for HYBE artists, was announced.
This announcement was attached with a graphic of artists that would be included in the exhibition, and even the newly-debuted girl group KATSEYE and artists under subsidiaries land Japan-focused ike BOYNEXTDOOR and &TEAM were mentioned.
However, it can be easily seen that despite the group’s massive popularity, NewJeans was nowhere to be seen, prompting fans to express frustration over “mistreatment”.
So far, NewJeans fans have been leaving various scathing regarding the situation, such as “they really dont deserve my jeanies”, “It’s hilarious that *now* HYBE remembers fromis_9, but excludes NewJeans which is their most profitable girl group”, and “This isn’t the first time HYBE has acted shady towards NewJeans but at least now it’s clear HYBE doesn’t support NewJeans.”
However, there is a fraction of netizens that defended HYBE, saying that the CEO of NewJeans’ agency, Min Hee-jin, never let the girl group associate with HYBE, so this result is natural.
