2NE1’s Dara Traveled To The Philippines With Younger Brother’s Best Friend?
Facing an unexpected dating rumor, 2NE1’s Dara and MBLAQ’s Lee Joon explained it by themselves in Dara’s Vlog
On the morning of May 3rd, Tenasia raised the rumor of 2NE1’s Dara dating former MBLAQ member and actor Lee Joon. Dating rumors arose after a video showing the two appearing at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the Philippines spread on social media.
In the video, Dara and Lee Joon were with the newlywed couple MBLAQ’s Thunder and gugudan’s Mimi. They were waiting for the flight to Korea after enjoying a trip together. Lee Joon is known to be Thunder’s best friend so many netizens speculated that Thunder might have introduced his friend to his sister.
In the latest episode of Dara’s vlog “Dara Tour” released on the evening of May 24th, Dara and Lee Joon explained why they went on a trip together to clarify dating rumors. The two indeed traveled together but they are not dating. In fact, Lee Joon received an invitation to appear on Dara’s traveling Vlog as a guest and they are only helping each other as senior and junior.
Lee Joon also revealed the reason behind his appearance on Dara’s Vlog. He said, “Two days ago, Thunder and Mimi came by to give me their wedding invitation. I asked, ‘When should we hang out?’, and he said, ‘I’m going to the Philippines in two days’. I wondered why and he said, ‘Well… I’m going on a Dara Tour’. I said, ‘That sounds fun. I wish I can join!’. ‘Wanna join?’, he said, and I ended up becoming a guest on Vlog Dara Tour”.
Both of them also found it funny when they were suddenly embroiled in a dating rumor.
Born in 1984, Dara was a successful entertainer in the Philippines before returning to Korea to become an idol trainee. Later she debuted as a member of the legendary girl group 2NE1. Apart from her singing activities, Dara also starred in several acting projects, such as “Cheese In the Trap”, “One Step”, “Missing Korea”, etc.
Lee Joon made his debut as a model. Later in 2009, he turned to singing and debuted as a member of the famous second-generation boy group MBLAQ. Aside from the group promotion, Lee Joon also proved his talents in acting through various works such as “Ninja Assassin”, “Mr. Back”, “The Escape of the Seven”, etc.
