Inside Out 2 Unveils Riley’s Adolescent Emotional Turmoil with New Emotions

New emotions arise in “Inside Out 2” main character Riley's mind as she enters adolescence.

The animated film ‘Inside Out 2,’ directed by Kelsey Mann and set to release on June 12, portrays the renewed crises and adventures that unfold as unfamiliar emotions such as Anxiety, Embarrassment, Boredom, and Envy appear in the emotion control headquarters of 13-year-old Riley’s mind.

This film is a sequel to ‘Inside Out.’ The original movie, released in 2015, captivated audiences with its imaginative portrayal of the various emotions Riley experiences as she moves to a new and unfamiliar place.

The movie won the Best Animated Feature at the 88th Academy Awards. After nine years, the production team of ‘Inside Out 2’ has unveiled scenes that depict the moments of growth and conflict as Riley experiences new emotions alongside the existing ones.

First, there are glimpses of Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear being startled by the sudden activation of the puberty alert, increasing curiosity about Riley’s adolescence.

Following this, we see the existing emotions on high alert as a new emotion, Anxiety, appears before them. In addition to Anxiety, new emotions such as Embarrassment, Boredom, and Envy also reflect Riley’s psychological state.

One scene shows Embarrassment lying on the emotion control panel, and the existing emotions are nowhere to be seen as the new emotions take over the control headquarters, sparking curiosity about the upcoming events.
