Once hate dancing, but one thing made Yeji (ITZY) change her mind and now she is the “secret weapon” of JYP
Yeji’s sharing surprised fans
ITZY‘s Yeji was recently selected as the face of Studio Choom’s Artist of the month. In addition to an incredible dance cover of Bishop Briggs‘s “River”, the behind-the-scenes video also received a lot of attention with interesting information.
Yeji revealed how her love story with dancing first began. As a child, her dream was to become a singer. Surprisingly, however, the future idol hated dancing!
Yeji shared: “Ever since I was young, my dream was to become a singer. But kids usually have a dream when they’re young because, rather than clearly liking something, they like it because it looks cool. My dream was to become a singer, but I hated dancing.”
Then it was the older sister who became the reason why Yeji changed her mind. While together dancing to the Wonder Girls famous songs, Tell Me and So Hot, Yeji immediately took a liking to it, and she’s been dancing ever since.
When she started elementary school, Yeji decided to join a local dance group. At that time, although just entering the dance field, her friends quickly acknowledged Yeji’s talent and gave her the center position that everyone craved. And even more amazing is that she got this position after only 2 weeks of joining the club.
A memory she cannot forget until now is how her teacher complimented her after one of their performances. She also cannot forget the thrill of having many people cheer for her. From there, Yeji’s passion for dancing became more and more intense.
Yeji may have disliked dancing when she was young, but she ended up becoming one of the main dancers of ITZY. With her all efforts, Yeji has become JYP’s secret weapon and even one of the greatest dancers of this generation!
