Girls’ Generation Taeyeon has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
On Nov 14th, the agency SM Entertainment posted a notice through their official fan community saying, “This is an announcement about Taeyeon.“
The agency said, “Taeyeon was diagnosed with COVID-19 today (Nov 14th). The self-diagnosis kit, which was conducted due to strange symptoms, showed a positive result. Taeyeon then immediately proceeded with a rapid antigen test this morning, when her positive status was further confirmed.“
SM explained Taeyeon’s current status, “Taeyeon has suspended all schedules and is currently in self-quarantine in accordance with the guidelines of the quarantine authorities.“
SM added, “We will continue to strictly follow the quarantine guidelines and do our best so that our artist can focus on treatment and recovery.“
Earlier, Taeyeon won Best Female Solo Artist at the 2022 Genie Music Awards held on Nov 8th. She announced in her acceptance speech that she was preparing for her solo concert, saying, “I’ll have a concert soon, so please wait.“
Taeyeon has not been able to hold a concert for about three years due to COVID-19 since “TAEYEON Concert – The UNSEEN” held in 2020.
Girls’ Generation, to which Taeyeon belongs, recently made a comeback with their 7th full-length album to celebrate their 15th debut anniversary.
