Billboard selects BTS Jungkook’s 18 most outstanding solo tracks since debut

A Billboard article praising Jungkook’s solo songs is drawing keen attention.

In a recent article titled “Jungkook’s 18 Best Solo Musical Moments,” Billboard shed light on 18 most outstanding solo tracks of BTS’s Jungkook to highlight his continued growth and development in vocals, techniques, showmanship, and confidence from 2013 to 2022.

Billboard said that although Jungkook is BTS’s youngest member who debuted in his teens, he always took the time to share with fans his favorite songs and artists while giving fans a glimpse into his career as a solo singer.

Billboard said that it takes considerable vocal courage to cover songs by strong singers like Tori Kelly, but in 2015, Jungkook did a perfect cover of “Paper Hearts”, showing off his impressive techniques.

Billboard then praised Jungkook for showing the possibility that he could stand shoulder to shoulder with Justin Bieber and other world-class male pop stars with his solo song “Begin”, released in 2016.

In 2017, Jungkook reinterpreted David Guetta X Justin Bieber’s “2U” as a beautiful ballad, boasting his brilliant musicality and solid skills, as he also participated in vocal arrangement.

In 2016, 19-year-old Jungkook appeared as “Fencing Man” in the show “King of Mask Singer” and covered Big Bang’s “If You”. Billboard commented, “He impressed the judges and the audience with his beautiful technique. It was a decisive moment for Jungkook to prove his singing ability to the larger public.”

Jungkook performed “We Don’t Talk Anymore” with Charlie Puth at the 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards. Billboard referred to this performance as a “standout moment” in Jungkook’s career as he introduced a new artistic side of himself.

Billboard complimented Jungkook for his continuous crossover potential through his solo song “Euphoria” in 2018, for showing one of the most dramatic vocal performances with “Stay Alive” in 2022, and for repeating the chorus very brilliantly in “My Time”, out in 2020.

Billboard also noted the warm side of Jungkook as he gifted his self-composed songs to fans. Jungkook gave great comfort to fans during the pandemic with “Still With You” in 2020, and sent a touching message to ARMYs with “My You” in 2022.

Lastly, Billboard praised Jungkook’s recently released collaboration song “Left and Right” with Charlie Puth, saying that the male idol clearly demonstrated his ability to discover popular songs and his progressive pop perspective.

In addition to this, Billboard also selected Jungkook’s “Like a Star” in 2013, “Fools” in 2015, “I Know” in 2016, “Decalcomania” demo, which was released as a gift to fans on his birthday, and “Save” in 2019 at the Melon Music Awards (MMA), as some of his best solo moments.
