On February 12th (local time), the official Instagram account of the NFL (American National Football League) posted a poster for the 56th Super Bowl game in California on the evening of February 13th, along with a message, “What will the final scene of the @rams’ Hollywood script look like?”
The poster shows players of the Los Angeles (LA) Rams posing in uniforms against a yellow curve.
Upon this, Korean netizens raised suspicions that it might be plagiarism, pouring out opinions that “It is too similar to the poster of director Hong Sang-soo’s movie ‘The Woman Who Ran.'”
Some speculated that it could have been a collaboration with director Hong as a Korean employee might have been in charge of designing the poster, saying, “In the case of NFL posters, Korean employees are often in charge of these.”
Meanwhile, the Super Bowl is a championship match between the winner of the National Football Conference (NFC) and the winner of the American Football Conference (AFC). It is the world’s largest single sports game, with ratings reaching 40-50% in the U.S.
This year’s Super Bowl will be a match between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals.
