Only 1 member of MONSTA X opted to leave the group’s current agency
On August 8th, the management agency of Kpop boy group MONSTA X, Starship Entertainment, officially announced that they had renewed their contracts with 5 MONSTA X members, including Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, and Jooheon.
Meanwhile, I.M decided to leave Starship, but not MONSTA X. Regarding this, Starship announced: “All 6 members hold the same love for MONSTA X and Monbebe (fandom of MONSTA X), so I.M will continue with group activities in the future.”
The agency also added: “I.M has remained in consideration for a long time and had sincere discussion with us, but unfortunately, our exclusive contract has come to an end. We will continue to support I.M’s future endeavors.”
MONSTA X debuted with a 7-member line up in 2015, but was reorganized into a 6-member group after Wonho’s departure in 2019.
