5 Korean actors considered the “picks” of K-drama producers and constantly cast as leads 

Song Kang, Han So Hee, Jisoo,… are among the luckiest rising stars of the Korean screen. 

1. Bae Doona

Bae Doona is one of the first Korean actors with the opportunity to star in international productions. After her excellent performance in Sense8, she appeared in many major TV shows such as Kingdom, Persona, The Silent Sea,… Bae Doona‘s acting is unarguably great, but there are many viewers who are expecting her to step out of her comfort zone because her characters have been noticeably similar.

2. Song Kang

Song Kang is given the nickname “Netflix’s son”, because 5 dramas he recently starred in are distributed by Netflix, in which there are 2 original series produced by this giant streaming service, Love Alarm and Sweet Home. However, many netizens think that Song Kang’s acting is only average and he needs to improve his performance to match his popularity.

3. Han So Hee

Rising to fame thanks to JTBC’s The World Of The Married, Han So Hee has also become the pick of OTT platform Netflix like Song Kang. In 2021, she drew much attention with her female lead roles in Nevertheless and My Name. However, Han So Hee still came under controversy over her acting. But she is especially appreciated for her efforts in renewing her on-screen image.

4. Jisoo

Jisoo in particular and BLACKPINK in general are believed to be Disney+’s “weapon” when entering the Korean market. Snowdrop was the first Korean drama to be released on Disney+ and despite the backlash, Snowdrop was still broadcast. As a rookie actress, Jisoo is under a lot of pressure. Fortunately, her acting in Snowdrop is considered to be quite decent.

5. Kim Go Eun

Gaining much attention on the small screen after playing the female lead in tvN’s Cheese in the Trap, Kim Go Eun is the cable station’s favorite star. Except for The King, all dramas of Kim Go Eun such as Goblin, Yumi’s Cells and the upcoming Little Women are produced and broadcast by tvN. Kim Go Eun once received criticism for being favored in Cheese In The Trap, but gradually she has successfully proved her charm and skills to be deserving.
