43-year-old Comedian Made Park Na-rae and Shindong Sobbed For Winning Best Newcomer At 2023 SBS Entertainment Awards
Shin Ki-ru won the Best Newcomer Award in the talk/variety category with the show “Love My Body” at the 2023 SBS Entertainment Awards, which aired on the afternoon of December 30th.
“I hate stairs and uphill section during gym time, but I really wanted to go up there. I’m 43 years old and it’s been 19 years since my debut,” said Shin.
She then said, “There were far more moments I wanted to quit than I wanted to. I really wanted to give up and I thought a lot about whether I would stop doing this. Still, I worked hard, since it’s still better than not working hard and being ashamed because of it,” said the comedian in tears.
“There are a lot of seniors and colleagues in front of me. Thank you so much. I longed for being loved and wanted to be on TV. There are a lot of people I can be thankful for today,” Shin said, giving credit to the staff and cast of “Love My Body.”
“I’ll run hard. People told me that I’m second or third. I hope you think that there are people like this and take it easy. I want to give myself a compliment today. I’ll do my best,” she added.
Comedian Park Na-rae and Super Junior’s Shin-dong, who are working with Shin in “Love My Body,” also shed tears at the her touching acceptance speech.
