Police have confirmed that a popular Korean actor in his 40s was reported for allegedly assaulting his wife at their home in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province.
According to police on August 14, the incident occurred on July 24, when actor A allegedly got into a physical altercation with his wife B after a heated argument. Reports indicate that A attempted to leave the house during the dispute, but B tried to block him, leading to a scuffle.
A 112 emergency call was made, prompting police to respond to the scene. Following an investigation into alleged assault, authorities decided to classify the matter as a domestic protection case rather than a criminal one, as B expressed she did not wish to pursue charges.
A police spokesperson stated: “We can confirm that a domestic violence report was received and addressed, but due to the nature of the case, we cannot disclose specific details.”
The actor, whose name has not been disclosed, has appeared in numerous films and dramas, including a box office hit that attracted over 10 million viewers, in which he played a supporting role.
