Despite having the same appearances, the careers of these K-drama actresses have stark differences.
In the Korean acting industry, there are many people who look like twins despite having no blood relationship. However, similar looks are not equivalent to similar careers and personal lifes. Below are 3 cases of K-drama actresses that look alike, but their lives can’t be anymore different.
1. Song Hye Kyo – Han So Hee
Starting the list is one of the most familiar faces to K-drama fans as of the moment – actress Han So Hee. Before gaining attention like today, Han So Hee used to be called the “the little Song Hye Kyo”, and compared with her senior acting talents, beauty, and even their off-screen life. However, Han So Hee has since constant improved herself via successful projects like “The World of The Married”, “Nevertheless,” My Name”, “Soundtrack #1”, and more, earning her a nomination for Best Actress at the prestigious Baeksang Art Awards. Meanwhile, the goddess queen of Korea, actress Song Hye Kyo is being said to have been going downhill, with unremarkable performances in “Encounter” and “Now, We Are Breaking Up”.
2. Kim Tae Hee – Jiyeon
One of the most notable doppelganger cases in the K-drama world has got to be Kim Tae Hee and Jiyeon. In fact, from her idol debut to deep in her acting career, Jiyeon is under constant pressure for being compared with the “most beautiful woman in Korea”, and ended up having a bumpy ride. While Kim Tae Hee was happily married and hailed as having both beauty and brain, Jiyeon’s group T-ARA ran into a serious bullying scandal and was boycotted in Korea. Adding to all of this, Jiyeon’s acting works didn’t manage to get popular either, with most seeing disappointing viewerships.
3. Son Ye Jin – Kyung Soo Jin
Often compared to the visuals of Son Ye Jin, actress Kyung Soo Jin led a pretty much unremarkable career. If Son Ye Jin was already one of the biggest faces in showbiz, then Soo Jin struggled to earn successful works. Despite having acted in famous series like “That Winter, The Wind Blow”, “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo”, and “Mouse”, the shadow of a “mini Son Ye Jin” just seems too huge for Soo Jin to overcome. It didn’t help that most series where Kyung Soo Jin played the lead witnessed abysmal ratings of lower than 1%.
