27-year-old Female Singer Revealed She was a Victim of School Bullying

A famous singer-songwriter has attracted attention by revealing that she was heavily bullied during her school years.

On September 4th (local time), Japanese singer Honoka Rin disclosed her past experiences of being bullied on her personal account.

On this day, Honoka cited a post from an internet user claiming she was bullied during her middle school years and recounted, “Every morning when I went to school, my desk was overturned and insults were written on the blackboard. My bag was thrown out the window, and mint-flavored throat lozenges were placed in my food tray,” sharing anecdotes of the bullying she endured.

Additionally, Honoka added, “Someone would throw chalk from outside the window, and there were various incidents like false rumors spreading at school,” reminiscing about her past.

She then revealed the reason why she had never been able to talk about her victimization before, saying, “I thought that being bullied meant something shameful, so I couldn’t tell anyone back then.”

In the end, she appeared somewhat relieved as she concluded, “I think I’m okay now.”

Meanwhile, Honoka Rin debuted as a singer in September 2017 with the song “Melon Soda” and has been active as a singer since then. Before her singing debut, she also worked as a fashion model.

Earlier, in 2017, Honoka sparked controversy with remarks such as, “Isn’t it rare for married people not to commit adultery? About 7 out of 10 do,” implying that the majority of married people in Japan engage in infidelity.

At that time, she admitted, “Have I been living too much in darkness?” and confessed that she has seen many people engage in affairs and relationships.

In particular, Honoka was also criticized when it was revealed that she had been in a de facto relationship with Kawatani Enon, the vocalist of the band Gesu no Kiwami Otome, who is 8 years her senior, while she was a minor.
