2021 AAA’s results: The Daesangs belong to BTS, aespa, SEVENTEEN, Lee Jung-Jae and more

Group BTS, actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Seung-gi, Yoo Ah-in, NCT 127, singer Lim Young-woong, Stray Kids, Seventeen, and aespa reportedly won the Daesangs of 2021 AAA.

The 2021 AAA was held at KBS Arena in Gangseo-gu, Seoul at 6 p.m. on December 2nd. The awards ceremony was held ontact to prevent the spread of the current pandemic.

AAA 2021: BTS won Daesang without attendance, the most surprising Daesang winners are aespa and Stray Kids

The 2021 AAA’s Daesangs were given to BTS, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Seung-gi, Yoo Ah-in, NCT 127, Lim Young-woong, Stray Kids, Seventeen, in respectively nine categories: Song of the Year, Actor of the Year, Actor/Actress of the Year: Drama, Actor/Actress of the Year: Film, Movie of the Year, Album of the Year, Trot of the Year, Performance of the Year, Artist of the Year and Stage of the Year.

First of all, BTS, who won the Daesang for “Song of the Year” category, has been staying in USA for a concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles since the 27th of last month, so the group was unable to attend the awards ceremony in person.

The members are grateful that “Butter” was selected as the best song among the songs released this year through a video message, “Thank you to the fans who loved us. I hope “Butter” will continue to be a memorable song for many people in the future.”

Immediately after winning the Daesang for “Actor of the Year,” Lee Jung-jae said, “Thank you for giving me such a big award. The success of ‘Squid Game’ is like a miracle. I want to share this honor with the actors and staff who have been with me and the audience around the world who loved me.”

After Yoo Ah-in’s name was announced as the winner of the “Actor of the Year – Film” category, he said, “I participated in a relatively small movie called ‘Voice of Silence’, but I won a big trophy. I will try to become an actor who can reach the core of each movie I approach and the center of my heart,” he said.

NCT 127, who won the Album of the Year, said, “I know how much time, mind and love our fans have spent for us singer to receive such a meaningful award. I thought we should return that love with a good performance. We will continue to work hard,” he thanked his fans.

Lim Young-woong, the winner of the “Trot of the Year” category, said, “I am grateful to receive four awards. There are people who devote themselves to our traditional songs more than I do, and I think I received this award on behalf of them,” he smiled.

Stray Kids, who lifted the “Performance of the Year” trophy, said, “Thank you to our agency, family and fans. We will show you our good influence as much as the weight of this award in the future,” they vowed.

SEVENTEEN, the winner of the “Singer of the Year” category, said, “We are truly happy that we are loved by so many people and can give back our love as well throughout our activities. We will not take this for granted and will continue to be a great team,” they said.

Also, aespa, who won the “Stage of the Year” category, said, “Thank you to our fans. It’s been almost a year since we debuted, so please take good care of us in the future. I hope we can be together forever. As we are able to receive such a big award, we will try to be an aespa who works harder in the future with a sense of responsibility rather than a burden”, they said.

In addition, the “U+ Idol Live Popularity Award” was won by BTS, Lim Young-woong, IU (singer category), Jung Ho-yeon, and Kim Seon-ho (actor category). The “Rookie of the Year” award, which can only be received once in a lifetime, went to aespa and ENHYPEN (singer category) and Lee Do-hyun (actor category).

The performances of the actors in Netflix’s original “Squid Game” were also noticeable. Heo Sung-tae and Kim Joo-ryeong, who played Jang Deok-soo and Han Mi-nyeo respectively, won the Best Actor Awards. In addition, Lee Jung-jae, who played Sung Ki-hoon, won the “Grand Prize”, “Hot Trend”, and “Fabulous Awards”, which means the “Squid Game” cast won a total of five gold awards.

Meanwhile, AAA, which was first held in 2016, is an integrated awards ceremony that combines actors and singers. 2021 AAA has almost all singers and actors who have been active on stage, screen and TV this year, including SEVENTEEN, Lim Young-woong, Bam Bam, Kang Daniel, aespa, ENHYPEN, Brave Girls, Yoo Ah-in, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Seung-gi, Moon Ga-young, Kwon Yu-ri, Na In-woo, Jeon Yeo-bin, and Cha Eun-woo.
