A shocking scandal has emerged in the Korean entertainment world as a famous rapper from a popular 2000s co-ed idol group has become embroiled in a ₩30 million adultery lawsuit.
According to reports confirmed on September 4, the rapper’s wife (B) filed a lawsuit on September 3 against a woman in her 20s (C), accusing her of engaging in an extramarital affair with her husband (A). The case was submitted to the Suwon District Court.
Court documents reveal that the rapper and the young woman began their relationship in April last year and have since been living together at her residence. Despite being legally married with multiple children, the rapper continued the affair even while divorce proceedings with his wife were ongoing.
What has shocked the public most is that the rapper’s children directly witnessed the affair. In July last year, they allegedly discovered him and the woman “lying unclothed in bed together.” Reports claim that despite pleas from his wife to end the relationship, he continued, which further deteriorated the marriage.
Disturbingly, the rapper allegedly physically assaulted his own children after learning they had informed their mother of the affair. He reportedly said to them: “Because of you, your mom and dad are fighting. If you tell anyone again, I will abandon you.” It is said the children were left with visible bruises, and in one instance, he forced them out of a car and left them behind in a parking lot.
These incidents led to a domestic violence case and a temporary restraining order barring him from approaching his children, though the restriction has since been lifted.
The wife’s legal representative stated: “C was fully aware of the marital relationship but continued the affair. This has caused unbearable mental anguish not only to the wife but also to the children. C must compensate for this suffering.”
As a result, the wife is demanding ₩30 million (approx. $22,000 USD) in damages.
This case is gaining major attention not only because of the lawsuit itself but also due to the rapper’s identity as a well-known figure in K-pop’s second-generation era, raising further questions about his career and public image moving forward.
