“13EGIN” is Infinite’s first album where they decide everything

Boy group Infinite, who is making a comeback in their 13th year, decided everything for their new album, “13EGIN”.

On July 31st, the press conference for Infinite’s 7th mini-album “13EGIN” was held at The Riverside Hotel in Seoul’s Seocho-gu. Here, Kim Sung Kyu expressed his confidence and revealed that although the group has been active for 13 years, “13EGIN” is Infinite’s first album where they decide everything.

He further continued, “It wasn’t easy. We had many discussions, went through almost 100 songs, as well as voted and deliberated a lot to create this album, from the planning stage to deciding the concept and choreography. It was fun, but it wasn’t easy, so I’m even more proud.

The male idol also said, “As it is our 13th anniversary, we creatively expressed the ‘B’ in “13EGIN” as ’13’. The title also signifies another new beginning for Infinite. While maintaining the style we have shown so far, we also wanted to showcase new styles in the songs. The title track ‘New Emotions is not the type of song with high-pitched notes that comes to mind when you think of Infinite. However, after giving 10 songs to the members to listen to and discuss, the next day, I found myself humming ‘New Emotions only”.

Meanwhile, another Infinite member, Nam Woo Hyun said, “As the title ‘New Emotions suggests, it is a song that brings a new feeling. We have been talking about producing our own album among ourselves for a long time, and today, it has come to fruition. I want to thank everyone who has supported us.”

Jang Dong Woo then mentioned Infinite being known for their “knife-like” choreography and dance, adding that this time, they emphasized a more elegant and sexy aspect. He also showed the point choreography himself, drawing attention.

According to Lee Sung Yeol, he initially opposed to selecting “New Emotions” as the title, but changed his mind after Sung Kyu’s convincing.

Lee Sung Jong revealed that he received a lot of help from the members, such as vocal advice and lessons from Woo Hyun and Sung Kyu.

“Since it has been a while since our last activity, I was worried if we would remember the dance moves during practice, but everyone remembered better than expected, so I was grateful,” he also said.

To this, L added, “As we are meeting after a long time, it was fun just to see each other’s faces. We enjoyed working together. I want to thank the representatives of each company who made Infinite’s activities possible”.

On the other hand, Infinite’s “13EGIN” is an album that heralds the group’s new beginning as they celebrate their 13th anniversary this year and returned as a complete group after five years of military service. The album contains a total of six songs, including the title track “New Emotions”. It was released on July 31st at 6 PM (KST).
