On the first day of the 2025 Lunar New Year (January 29th), Zhao Lusi made a new post sharing her experience with depression. Although the actress emphasized that she wrote a lot because she wanted people to not underestimate the illness, many netizens complained of annoyance due to the negative energy from the actress’s post. Some even demanded a ban on Zhao Lusi’s appearance on broadcasts.
In addition, netizens spotted several mini cameras in photos uploaded by Zhao Lusi. It appeared that the actress intentionally filmed the whole process of her depression recovery process as materials to edit content videos to be released later on and gain public sympathy with images of her suffering.

Many pointed out that these photos are evidence that Zhao Lusi had plans to do marketing with her depression and stroke. Previously, the actress’s agency posted a video showing Zhao Lusi having seizures and many people even criticized the agency for not taking into consideration the actress’ health issues. However, it is believed that the videos were uploaded with Zhao Lusi’s consent.
As these media tricks were revealed, Zhao Lusi’s image in the eyes of netizens has worsened. Many people have left comments criticizing the actress, such as “If you’re sick, you should look for a doctor. Look for a lawyer for contract issues and look for the police if you are harassed. Seeking netizens’ attention won’t help you”.
In the meantime, many experts have suggested that Zhao Lusi should stay away from social media and focus on resting to regain her life balance.

According to netizens, Zhao Lusi has recently appeared on hot search with more than 200 topics. On January 29th, the total views of posts related to Zhao Lusi on Weibo even exceeded 500 million.
Earlier on January 1st, the actress made her first post, emphasizing that it was her last time talking about her health condition. However, Zhao Lusi continued sharing posts about her fanmeeting and mentioned her health issues on the news and other posts.
As such, a lot of netizens expressed frustration, such as “I think she’s just exaggerating her depression to gain attention rather than speaking up for people suffering from depression. Seems like netizens are right, she really treats depression like a fashion trend”, “If she’s not diagnosed with depression, why does she keep posting articles claiming she has depression? It may cause misunderstanding, making people think depression can easily be cured within a month”, etc.
