It is known that rookie male idol group ZEROBASEONE suffered from personal threats.
On the 28th, ZEROBASEONE’s agency Wake One released an official statement.
Wake One said, “Recently, a number of posts threatening the safety of our artist ZEROBASEONE have been found online and on SNS.”
They surprised everyone by saying, “We inform you that we are taking actions as follows to protect our artist. On July 27th, through law firm Shin & Kim, we filed a complaint against the creators of the posts in question on charges of intimidation and violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.”
ZEROBASEONE’s agency warned, “We will take all the strong legal measures available in response to all words and actions that cause fear and anxiety, including actions that may harm the personal safety of our artist.“
They announced the progress of processing malicious posts, “We are continuously monitoring, reporting, deleting and taking legal action against malicious posts such as malicious slander, defamation, insults and spread of false information about our artist.“
They continued, “We will respond strictly to the suspects without any agreement or leniency.”
Finally, the agency requested, “We ask for active information through Wake One’s official mail in the future. We will do our best to protect the rights and interests of our artist.“
Meanwhile, ZEROBASEONE is a male idol group formed through Mnet’s audition survival program “Boys Planet”.
The members include Kim Gyuvin, Kim Jiwoong, Kim Taerae, Ricky, Park Gunwook, Seok Matthew, Sung Hanbin, Zhang Hao and Han Yujin. They released their first mini-album “YOUTH IN THE SHADE” on July 10th.
