On the October 17 episode of TVING’s variety show Fan Zone 2 (찐팬구역2), Yuri appeared alongside actress Song Sang-eun to support the first round of the 2025 KBO postseason matchup between the Hanwha Eagles and the Samsung Lions. The show, co-hosted by retired baseball player Kim Tae-kyun, was intended to highlight the enthusiasm of true baseball fans. However, the atmosphere shifted when Kim made a pointed remark directed at Yuri.
Before the game began, Kim asked Yuri, “How do you feel about going up against our Samsung team?” The question immediately drew attention as Yuri briefly dated Samsung Lions’ pitcher Oh Seung-hwan for six months back in 2015. Oh has since married in 2022 and is now a father.
Caught off guard, Yuri managed a smile and responded, “Of course… it’s fun. It’s thrilling. We’re really facing each other? Almost like it was planned.” However, Kim didn’t stop there. He further added, “I even attended his retirement ceremony,” referencing Oh Seung-hwan, which left Yuri visibly flustered. She placed her hand on her forehead in discomfort, showing clear signs of unease.
The moment sparked swift reactions online. While some found the exchange humorous, many viewers criticized Kim Tae-kyun’s comments as disrespectful and unnecessarily intrusive.
