A disturbing incident has sparked outrage among K-pop fans worldwide after Eunho, a member of the boy group YOUNITE, was nearly assaulted by a fan during an overseas performance.
The group performed at the 18th Korean Culture Day in São Paulo, Brazil, on August 17. Following the show, as members made their way through a dense crowd, one female fan suddenly pushed forward and attempted to forcibly kiss Eunho.
Videos circulating on social media show Eunho being approached aggressively, only for staff and security to immediately intervene. The idol was swiftly escorted away, avoiding direct contact.

Online reaction was swift and critical: “This is clearly sexual harassment and a crime” and “Artist safety should be the top priority at every event.”
The event organizers issued a formal apology, stating: “We deeply regret the sexual harassment incident during the performance. No form of such behavior can ever be tolerated.”
YOUNITE’s agency, Brand New Music, also released a statement, emphasizing both artist and fan safety: “Some fans’ excessive approach threatened Eunho’s safety during the event. Such actions can endanger not only our artists but also fellow fans present at the scene. We ask for strict respect of safe boundaries.”
Eunho himself later reassured fans via a private communication platform: “I was surprised, but I dodged quickly. Don’t worry, I’m okay.”
This incident has reignited discussions within the K-pop community about idol protection and fan etiquette, especially during overseas tours where security protocols may vary.
YOUNITE, an eight-member boy group under Brand New Music, continues its international promotions, but fans are urging stronger safeguards to prevent such dangerous encounters in the future.
