“You only breath a sigh before…”, Mudd The Student’s controversial lyrics about the late Kim Jong-hyun

Mnet’s “Show Me the Money 10,” which aired on Nov 26th, showed Mudd The Student of the Greynoma team (Song Min-ho and Gray’s team) decorating the semi-final stage with his song called “Dissonance” featuring AKMU.

Some netizens speculated that Mudd the Student wrote the lyrics with the late Jong-hyun, who passed away in 2017, in mind.

They gave grounds such as “Elevator” is a track in the album released in the year of Jong-hyun‘s death, “Phantom Pain” is a track in Jonghyun’s posthumous work and “Breathe” is a song that Jonghyun composed for singer Lee Hi.

Others claimed that Mudd the Student was referring to Kurt Cobain, who suddenly passed away in 1994, through the lyrics “My idol lived in a different era”.

Meanwhile, Mudd the Student was eliminated by a difference of 21 votes in the match against Koonta from team Yumdda x TOIL.
