At the press screening of upcoming supernatural comedy film Pretty Crazy (악마가 이사왔다) held on August 6 at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul, Girls’ Generation’s YoonA joined director Lee Sang-geun and co-stars Ahn Bo-hyun and Joo Hyun-young to discuss the quirky and otherworldly project ahead of its theatrical release.

In Pretty Crazy, YoonA stars as Sun-ji, a woman who transforms into a devil every night at dawn. Her unlikely companion is Gil-gu (Ahn Bo-hyun), an unemployed man who stumbles into a bizarre part-time job watching over Sun-ji and navigating the chaos that follows.
Describing Sun-ji as “the most energetic character I’ve ever played,” YoonA shared that the role gave her freedom to experiment. “It was a role where I could be bold and try everything I wanted to,” she said, expressing how much fun she had on set.

This marks a reunion for YoonA and director Lee Sang-geun, who previously worked together on the hit action-comedy Exit (2019). That collaboration helped shape her confidence going into Pretty Crazy. “When I read the script, I imagined how the director might shape it, and the way he highlighted Sun-ji’s charm exceeded even my expectations.”

A standout element of her devilish transformation is the eerie, signature laugh — a unique character trait that took effort and precision to master. “Creating that laugh wasn’t easy at first,” YoonA admitted. “I worked closely with the director so I could bring it out freely on set. We wanted it to be natural yet full of Sun-ji’s unique charm.”

The actress also praised the director’s hands-on approach: “He even demonstrated certain expressions for me on set, which made it easier and more comfortable to film.”
With its offbeat premise, comedic tone, and YoonA’s high-energy performance, Pretty Crazy is already generating strong buzz ahead of its August 13 release. For fans eager to see a new side of YoonA — wild, hilarious, and slightly unhinged — this film promises a wickedly fun ride.
