In a recent interview held at a hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, Yoona shared her thoughts on tvN’s drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, where she played French cuisine chef Yeon Ji Young, who time-slips to the past and encounters a tyrant king with an extraordinary palate.
Reflecting on the drama’s conclusion, Yoona said, “I’ve been living as Yeon Ji Young since the end of last year, preparing and filming. It’s already been a year, and thinking that all of those feelings end with just 12 episodes makes me both sad and grateful. I feel proud of the love the drama received, but at the same time, I don’t want to let it go quickly.”

Originally, actor Park Sung Hoon had been cast as the male lead. However, after a major controversy when explicit content was uploaded to his social media, he stepped down, and the role was handed over to Lee Chae Min.
This casting change meant Yoona would be working with a co-star 10 years younger than her. Addressing this, she said, “Until now, I mostly worked with seniors or peers, but this was my first time acting alongside a younger partner. I did wonder how we could create good chemistry.”

She added, “I remembered the support I received from my past co-stars and tried to bring that energy forward. But honestly, I didn’t need to make much effort. Not just Lee Chae Min, but all the actors naturally embodied their characters so well that everything came together on its own. It felt like our combined strength completed the work.”
