On the May 15 broadcast of KBS2’s Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant, singer Kim Jae Joong invited his close friends Choi Jin Hyuk, Yoon Shi Yoon, and Yoo Seon Ho to his home, where they openly discussed marriage and relationships.
The episode drew attention because Kim Jae Joong, Yoon Shi Yoon, and Choi Jin Hyuk were all born in 1986. However, since Yoon Shi Yoon was born in September, he naturally called Kim Jae Joong and Choi Jin Hyuk “hyung (older brother).”
Even after Kim Jae Joong told him he could speak casually, Yoon Shi Yoon jokingly drew a firm line, saying, “Being the younger one is more beneficial in social life,” making everyone burst into laughter.
The conversation naturally shifted toward marriage. Choi Jin Hyuk confessed, “My mom doesn’t nag me about marriage, but she nags me about everything else,” before adding, “I think she even dislikes me dating. It almost feels like she doesn’t want me to get married.”
Kim Jae Joong strongly related to the comment, saying, “If you live with your mom, you can’t date. And if you don’t date, you can’t get married. Moms are like bunkers.”
Choi Jin Hyuk immediately agreed, replying, “It’s really hard to meet someone.”
He then made everyone laugh by revealing, “Whenever I’m talking to someone on the phone, my mom listens to the entire conversation. The next day, I heard her repeating my conversation with my friend while talking to one of her friends.”
Yoon Shi Yoon, who previously shared that he had no plans to marry within the next four years, also nodded in agreement and said, “My mom tells me to get married too, but deep down I think she actually dislikes the idea.”
The actor then shocked everyone by sharing a memorable story from one of his past dates.
Yoon Shi Yoon explained, “I was going on a date with my girlfriend once, and I asked my mom to drop me off near the station while riding in her car.”
However, instead of stopping, his mother reportedly drove straight past the station.
He continued, “I said, ‘Mom, I told you to let me off,’ but suddenly she shouted, ‘I don’t know!’ while gripping the steering wheel and crying loudly.”
Kim Jae Joong jokingly responded, “So the conclusion is that you’re not getting married because of your mother?”
Yoon Shi Yoon then honestly admitted with a laugh, “Honestly, yes — it’s because of my mom.”
Choi Jin Hyuk also sympathized, saying, “That’s honestly a huge reason for me too.”
Since both actors are only sons, Yoon Shi Yoon humorously analyzed the situation by saying, “Mothers see their sons as their only place to rely on,” causing another wave of laughter in the studio.
