According to an exclusive report by Edaily on August 5 and his agency Billions on August 22, the former Wanna One member has been cast in the lead role of Lee Iljo, a down-on-his-luck man with no savings, no job, and nowhere to go. The emotional storyline begins when Iljo reunites with his distant cousin Seo Jeonghan at a family funeral. Out of sympathy, Jeonghan invites him to live together—setting the stage for a slow-burning and heartfelt relationship to unfold.

Thundercloud Rainstorm is based on a beloved BL novel by author Chaesim, which was later turned into a webtoon boasting an impressive 4.8-star rating. The story’s existing popularity among fans has already raised anticipation for its live-action adaptation.

This project marks Yoon Jisung’s BL drama debut, following his first foray into acting with the 2021 SBS drama Let Me Be Your Knight. Since then, he has built a diverse acting portfolio through musical theater, starring in productions like Return: The Promise of the Day, Something Rotten.
Yoon Jisung initially gained national attention through Produce 101 Season 2 and debuted with the hugely successful project group Wanna One. After the group’s disbandment, he launched a solo music career, beginning with his mini album Aside.

Thundercloud Rainstorm is currently in production and is expected to be released later this year. The drama is also in talks for OTT platform distribution, suggesting a potential global release that could expand Yoon Jisung’s growing international fanbase.
