On September 13, a media outlet reported that Yoo is currently constructing a building on land he purchased in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam. According to real estate registration documents and building permit records, the property will feature three basement levels and four floors above ground. Classified as a “neighborhood living facility,” the site spans 573.7㎡ (173 pyeong) with a total floor area of 1,653.55㎡ (500 pyeong). Construction began in May 2024 and is scheduled for completion in February 2026. Industry insiders predict Yoo will use the building for leasing or as company offices, given that he registered a real estate business entity called JS607 in November 2023.
The Nonhyeon-dong area is a hub for entertainment companies, with Yoo’s own agency Antenna and producer Na Young Seok’s Egg Is Coming also located nearby. Yoo purchased two adjoining plots in June 2023 for ₩11.6 billion and ₩8.2 billion (around $15 million in total), paying entirely in cash. He later cleared out a decades-old multi-family residence on one of the lots before merging them to construct the new building.
For years, Yoo was known for living modestly despite topping the list of highest-paid TV personalities. Even at the height of Infinite Challenge, he lived in a rental unit at Hyundai Apartments in Apgujeong for over 15 years. However, his fortunes shifted when he began purchasing real estate outright. In addition to the Nonhyeon-dong properties, Yoo also bought a luxury penthouse in the same neighborhood for ₩8.66 billion and owns a 196㎡ apartment in the prestigious Hyundai Apartment complex.
Beyond real estate, Yoo remains one of Korea’s busiest entertainers. He currently appears on MBC’s Hangout With Yoo, SBS’s Running Man, and tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, while also preparing for his new Netflix variety show Jae Suk’s B&B Rules!. As a major shareholder of Antenna and a content creator for the YouTube channel “DdeunDdeun”, Yoo continues to expand his influence both in entertainment and business.
