Recently, Yoo In-young posted a video titled “In-young’s Memory Lane | Collection of Photos from Debut to Present” on her YouTube channel, ‘In-young In-young.’
In the video, Yoo In-young said, “I searched hard last night. This is a resource showing my changes since my debut in the entertainment industry. I did look through some materials myself, but I’m not sure what’s there. If there’s something off, it might be edited.” When the production team expressed interest in seeing photos from her debut in 2003, Yoo In-young confidently responded, “You might think of it as a dark past, but I’m proud. I was beautiful from the start.”
Yoo In-young revealed, “During high school, I worked as a model and did some fitting jobs in between. This is a photo where my face is prominently featured after I got paid.” She showed a catalog from a jeans brand featuring a photoshoot with actor Park Byung-eun. Yoo In-young commented, “People tease me about my face, but I’m confident. I was just waiting for the catalog to come out, but my face was cropped out, and only the clothes were shown. At that time, I was 170 cm and 48 kg, and my face was more angular and slimmer.”
Yoo In-young explained, “I did a magazine shoot, but my model name wasn’t listed. I turned out so beautifully that I unintentionally became a mysterious model. From then on, I started receiving casting calls and paved a solid path as a model.” She also showed photos from 2003 and 2004, asking, “Do I look very different?” and added, “Why can’t you recognize me? It’s a bit annoying. Anyone can see it’s me,” which brought laughter.
After moving into TV commercials, Yoo In-young continued her nostalgic journey by sharing photos and interviews from her shoots. When asked about her body management secrets, she mentioned, “I don’t think I was exercising back then.” She also expressed her stance on not wanting to shoot wedding photos as a model, explaining, “I wanted to preserve the romantic vision of my first wedding dress for myself.”
Having achieved her dream of being a magazine cover model, Yoo In-young noted that the production team remarked, “You look different,” and “You definitely have a presence.” Yoo In-young joked, “If this goes out, people might start new plastic surgery rumors. If that happens, I won’t stay quiet,” which made everyone laugh.
Yoo In-young explained that there is a difference between working as an actress and a model. She said, “I did modeling for so long that I disliked doing photo shoots after I started acting. When I saw interviews and photo shoots of other actors, they looked very ‘actor-like.’ When I only did photo shoots, my model poses came out naturally. I disliked that aspect of myself and wanted to shed the model image, so I avoided doing photo shoots for a while.”
After transitioning to acting, Yoo In-young also shared some photo shoots. She noted, “It was a period with a lot of interviews and photo shoots as an actress.” Regarding a bold hairstyle in one of her shoots, she said, “It’s not a dark past for me. It seems people were shocked by it.” She also discussed changing her autograph, explaining, “After getting LASIK surgery, I found myself bored with my eyes closed and came up with a new signature. Once I opened my eyes, I felt good about the new design and decided to switch to it.”
After revealing photo shoots from after “My Love from the Star” and “The King’s Daughter, Soo Baek-hyang,” Yoo In-young commented, “By 2015, I had been acting for a long time. I was at a stage where I knew what to say and what not to say, so there weren’t any funny or interesting comments. I think I’ve become more composed.” Concluding her nostalgic journey, Yoo In-young expressed, “Looking at my younger self, I feel proud and sentimental. Embarrassment? What’s that?” boosting her confidence.
