Yoo Ah-in’s side “Allegations of same-sex sexual assault are not true, please refrain from speculating about his private life”

Actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Uhm Hong-sik)'s side addressed the allegations of same-sex sexual assault

On July 26th, attorney Bang Jung-hyun from the law firm Dongjin, representing Yoo Ah-in, stated in an official position, “The allegations related to Yoo Ah-in are not true.”

Yoo Ah-in’s side added, “We also request that unnecessary speculation regarding his private life be refrained from.

Previously, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced that Yoo Ah-in had been booked on charges of sexually assaulting a man in his 30s (quasi-rape).

According to the police, a man in his 30s, identified as A, claimed that he was sexually assaulted by Yoo Ah-in at an officetel in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on July 14th. Under current law, same-sex sexual assault is classified under quasi-rape.

Yoo Ah-in is currently on trial for drug use, and the police are also looking into the possibility of additional drug use in connection with this case. A, the accuser, reportedly tested negative in a preliminary drug test.

A police official stated, “We have not yet contacted the accused (Yoo Ah-in). We plan to summon the accused for questioning soon.”

Yoo Ah-in was indicted without detention last October for habitual use of propofol, illegal prescription purchase of sleeping pills under someone else’s name, marijuana smoking and instigation, and instigation of destruction of evidence.

Currently, Yoo Ah-in has partially admitted to the marijuana smoking charge but denies other charges, including instigation of marijuana smoking, instigation of destruction of evidence, abetting violation of the Narcotics Control Act, fleeing abroad…

The prosecution requested a four-year prison sentence for Yoo Ah-in on drug charges.
