According to multiple Korean media outlets on June 30, Galaxy Corporation has proposed a contract structure combining cash payment and stock options, signaling strong interest in bringing actor Yoo Ah-in into its roster.

The company recently made headlines after signing SHINee member Taemin, with reports suggesting his deal was valued at approximately 7 billion KRW including stock-based incentives. Yoo Ah-in is now said to be reviewing a similar offer as he considers his career comeback and future direction.

Yoo Ah-in’s long-term contract with UAA, which lasted 12 years since 2014, officially ended without renewal. His departure marked a major turning point in his career following years of top-tier status in the Korean film industry. However, his public image has been heavily affected since 2023, when he became embroiled in a major drug-related investigation. He was later indicted for habitual use of medical narcotics and illegally obtaining sleeping medication under other people’s names.

In July of the previous year, the court sentenced him to one year in prison, suspended for two years, along with a fine of 2 million KRW.

Despite the controversy, Yoo Ah-in continues to attract attention from major entertainment firms, highlighting his enduring influence in the Korean entertainment industry. Galaxy Corporation, which is expanding its roster of global entertainment and sports figures, continues to grow its presence in the industry. The company is also reportedly linked with several high-profile names currently in negotiation talks.

If finalized, the potential deal could mark one of the most controversial entertainment signings in recent years, raising questions about public reception, brand risk, and the future of Yoo Ah-in’s acting career.

All eyes remain on whether Yoo Ah-in will officially sign with Galaxy Corporation and attempt a high-profile return to the entertainment industry.
