YG’s new girl group Baby Monster stuns in dance performance unveiled for the first time

YG’s rookie girl group Baby Monster has released their first dance performance.

The dance practice video of the five members Ruka, Haram, Asa, Rora, and Ahyeon titled “BABYMONSTER-DANCE PERFORMANCE” was recently posted and received an explosive response as it shows YG’s unique hip-hop energy as well as the members’ intense aura that makes it hard to believe they are only teenage girls.

In the black-and-white video, the five members show off a powerful yet dramatic performance to Young Money’s “Senile”. In the dynamic choreography, the rhythmic dance lines that made use of each member’s individuality, including the synchronized group dance that seemed to be measured with a ruler, aroused admiration.

It is impressive that Baby Monster focused solely on the performance with the practice room as the background without any special stage equipment or flashy styling. Even before their official debut, YG’s confidence in Baby Monster is evident. It is a short video of about 1 minute, but the group’s unrivaled performance skills are fascinating enough.

Above all, the birth of a rookie girl group in which all members are ‘all-rounders’ is attracting attention. Haram and Ahyeon, who have been recognized for their excellent singing skills and sensuous rapping through vocal live videos released early on, also have solid dancing skills. Ruka, Asa, and Rora, appeared in public for the first time and showed off their distinct presence. This has raised expectations for more Baby Monster’s contents to be released later.

Baby Monster is YG’s new girl group launched about 7 years after BLACKPINK. Details such as the debut date, final number of members, and concept have not yet been announced. However, since BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Lisa, WINNER‘s Kang Seung Yoon and Lee Seung Hoon, and AKMU‘s Lee Chan Hyuk and Lee Su Hyun have praised their junior Baby Monster’s skills, and general producer Yang Hyun Suk personally announced their debut, K-pop fans around the world are paying special attention.

Earlier, YG said, “Baby Monster consists of trainees who have not made any debut yet. They are expected to be evaluated and recognized as singers without prejudice”, adding “We plan to show their raw skills without any filter”. Accordingly, Baby Monster’s promotional contents are released sequentially as planned.
