YG’s girl group BABYMONSTER shines with teamwork in group vocal mission

BABYMONSTER, the upcoming girl group of YG Entertainment, has shown off their perfect teamwork in a recent mission.

On April 21st, YG Entertainment released the video “BABYMONSTER – ‘Last Evaluation’ EP.7” on the group’s official YouTube channel. Ahyeon, who faced difficulties in song selection in the previous episode, surprised her senior artists with a high-quality performance of “Dangerously”, despite the short practice time. Her vocal range and explosive power were particularly impressive.

Kang Seung Yoon applauded her, saying, “I feel like I’m watching a strength show of a person’s voice. I thought they gave a different mic just for Ahyeon”. Meanwhile, YGX dance trainer also mentioned that Ahyeon’s character suits the team name, BABYMONSTER, the most.

Finally, Yang Hyun Suk praised Ahyeon, saying that she has the highest vocal range among 7 prospective members, and that he “can sleep with peace now”.

The next mission was a group vocal mission, as teamwork is a crucial element for the best teams. Although BABYMONSTER was initially flustered due to lacking experience singing in harmony, they quickly worked together on song selection and part distribution.

Even though it was their first time, BABYMONSTER created a beautiful harmony under Ahyeon’s detailed guidance and Haram’s active vocal lead. Chiquita, the youngest member who struggled with group songs due to the shortest training period, drew a proud smile by giving her best with Ahyeon’s strong advice and affectionate encouragement.

BABYMONSTER’s endless efforts eventually paid off on the D-day. In particular, the 7 members chose “Scars To Your Beautiful” and showcased their individual strengths, while perfectly harmonizing and displaying impressive synergy. Lee Chan Hyuk couldn’t help but admire their performance, saying, “I’m not even exaggerating this, but it seemed as if I was watching the finale of a music show.”

Finally, the last challenge towards BABYMONSTER’s debut, a group dance stage, was unveiled Since Yang Hyun Suk’s previously stated that “all seven members can’t debut together”, global fans are now interested in the final debut lineup.

Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER is YG’s first girl group in about 7 years after BLACKPINK. The prospective members include 3 Koreans (Ahyeon, Haram, and Rora), two Thais (Pharita and Chiquita), and two Japanese (Ruka and Asa), with most of them in their teens.

The debut reality show “Last Evaluation” for the final member selection is released every Friday.
