However, her demanding romantic roles reportedly put strain on her relationship with actor Li Yun Peng.
Xu publicly confirmed that the two have ended their relationship, admitting that her acting schedule and numerous kiss scenes played a role in their split. She stressed that such scenes are purely professional and part of her passion for acting, but acknowledged Li’s difficulty in accepting it. Respecting his feelings, she agreed to the breakup.
“I truly love acting—it’s not only my profession but also my dream,” Xu said.
Li Yun Peng also confirmed the separation during a livestream, telling fans, “She’s no longer my girlfriend—your news is outdated. I can officially say I’m single now.” He added that the decision was mutual and that the two parted ways amicably without hard feelings.
