Worst acting idol at the moment: Stiff expressions, carried by his handsome looks?

Once famous for decent acting, this male idol has disappointed in his latest drama comeback.

Among ongoing weekend dramas, MBC’s “Numbers” generates the least buzz. The drama has been recording relatively low ratings, only around 3%. One reason is that the drama explores an unoriginal topic, the lives of office workers in an accounting company. The actors don’t have enough star power to attract viewers either.

Another reason for the lack of success is likely due to the male lead, Kim Myung Soo. The idol-turned actor has sparked controversy as some viewers believe that his expressions are very stiff and awkward, making it difficult to fully convey the emotions of the character.

His on-screen chemistry with co-star Yeonwoo is also not as explosive as other couples in other ongoing dramas, such as Shin Hye Sun – Ahn Bo Hyun, and Yoona – Junho.

In “Numbers,” Kim Myung Soo plays Jang Ho Woo, a new accountant at Taeil Accounting Company. Taeil is one of the four largest accounting firms in Korea. Jang Ho Woo happens to be the only employee at Taeil Accounting Company with only a high school diploma.

He is smart, but not having a college degree exposes him to many unjust situations. He has to fight for justice within the company. The character requires complex acting, but Kim Myung Soo fails to deliver. Apart from his handsome face in any situation, Kim Myung Soo’s performance doesn’t leave a special mark.

Kim Myung Soo, also known as L fromINFINITE, has been acting for many years and achieved relative success as an actor. However, he doesn’t shine in this role.
