At the end of the March 4 broadcast of tvN’s variety show “You Quiz on the Block”, a preview featuring WOODZ was released, drawing attention with the emotional story he shared.
In the teaser, WOODZ spoke about his recent activities, including how one of the songs he sang during his military service unexpectedly gained popularity and created a “reverse charting” phenomenon.
Although he was discharged from the military in July last year, WOODZ appeared in the preview with his hair still cut short. Smiling brightly, he explained that he chose the look because he wanted to appear in the style fans liked the most.

The singer also reflected on his early life, revealing that he moved to Brazil at the age of 13 to pursue soccer. However, even at that young age, he had already dreamed of becoming a singer.
Recalling a conversation with his mother, WOODZ said he once confessed, “Mom, there’s actually a reason I want to stay in Korea. I want to become a singer.” He laughed while sharing that his mother responded by telling him to focus on playing soccer instead.
During the preview, WOODZ also spoke candidly about a painful chapter in his family life. He mentioned that many people assume his family background was comfortable, but explained that the reality was very different.

He revealed that he once received the devastating news that his father had passed away overseas. WOODZ said he personally brought his father’s cremation urn back to Korea, holding it in his arms during the journey. The emotional confession marked the first time he publicly shared this story.
Meanwhile, WOODZ released his first full-length album, “Archive. 1,” on March 4, marking 13 years since his debut.
The album represents a new chapter in his career and serves as the first official record of his musical journey. Reflecting the artistic identity he has built over the years, WOODZ participated in writing, composing, and producing every track on the album.
With a total of 17 songs, “Archive. 1” explores a wide range of genres—including rock ballad, pop punk, jazz, and alternative R&B offering a diverse look into WOODZ’s musical world and creative evolution.
